Hoell (pronounced “Hail”) supports Good Company's clients and projects with technical research, market research and market development. Hoell works primarily with business and government and leads Good Company's work related to food and agriculture.

Hoell’s technical work includes conducting sustainability assessments and greenhouse gas inventories for Good Company's clients. She has examined aspects of supply chain and business operations including energy, fuel and climate change impacts; material use, recycling and waste; water use; indoor air quality; and landscape and habitat impacts for businesses ranging from retail to manufacturing to professional services.

She has recently worked with a team of Good Company staff to conduct a sustainability assessment for The Eugene Water & Electric Board (EWEB) based on the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) framework. This inventory included collecting data on over 100 financial, environmental, community and operational indicators for the purpose of public performance disclosure.

Hoell is part of Good Company's Climate Services team. She has conducted an in-depth carbon footprint and supply chain analysis for Burgerville, a forty-plus-store regional quick-service restaurant chain. She has completed a both a corporate GHG inventory of municipal operations and a community GHG inventory including both business and citizen activities for the City of Vancouver, WA. Hoell has also conducted a greenhouse gas inventory and assisted in the development of a climate action plan for City of Portland, OR Parks and Recreation Department. In 2009, she served as the project manager for Operation Climate Collaborative (OCC), a multi-jurisdictional facilitated process to build internal capacity to conduct large-scale greenhouse gas inventories for a variety of Oregon-based organizations including: City of Hillsboro, City of Gresham, City of Corvallis, City of Lake Oswego, Metro, Washington County, Clackamas County, and Oregon Health Sciences University. OCC participants used Good Company’s Carbon Calculator (G3C), a proprietary GHG inventory and climate action planning tool that Hoell helped to develop. (click here for more information about OCC)

Hoell has also provided individual consulting on opportunities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions for seven local Eugene businesses through the Climate Masters at Work Program.

Hoell's current market research includes a market development strategy on behalf of Eugene Water & Electric Board’s (EWEB) Drinking Water Source Protection program. The project focuses on developing a robust local and regional food network that can provide access and opportunities to organic and natural food markets for local growers located within the metro area’s drinking water watershed. As part of this project, she has worked with Ecotrust in the development of Food Hub, an online directory and marketplace that makes it easy for food buyers and sellers to find each other, connect and do business.

Hoell is currently serving as the Coordinator for the Local Food Connection, a conference hosted by Cascade Pacific Resource Conservation & Development that seeks to connect local farmers, ranchers and fishers with all types of area food buyers in order to develop new markets and provide new business opportunities. Hoell has a BA in Environmental Science from the University of Denver. She is a LEED™ Accredited Professional.
