Program Development

Do you need to design a program that contributes to the sustainability of your organization, clients or community? Do you need to develop program goals and identify potential leaders and participants? Do you anticipate evolving needs for this new program?

Good Company has developed programs for clients with a focus on either creation of a streamlined process towards a community reaching a shared sustainability-related goal, educating and building capacity within an organization to develop more sustainable products or service areas, providing ongoing staff training on emerging sustainability issues in an industry and developing a regional service or initiative to collectively meet a sustainability-related goal.

Many clients are interested in developing a sustainability program for their organization. This typically involves facilitated discussions with internal stakeholders to understand and shape sustainability goals and align them with the organization’s mission, products and services. In many cases we are working with a sustainability coordinator and a select team of department leads to incorporate sustainability best practices into everyday operations and management, to develop an ongoing education and training program to keep staff up-to-date on emerging sustainability issues and best management practices and to create an internal governance structure and team to continue assessing the performance of and evolving the program to maintain and sometimes go beyond today’s sustainability standards.

Highlighted Projects:

Good Company led the development and launch of the Oregon Department of Transportation’s Sustainability Program through a comprehensive set of interviews and focus groups to generate a program governance structure and the development of the first two sustainability strategic plans.
